The non-measurable immaterial aspects of reality.
The ‘magical’ is anything that is not measurable, material, and mathematically modelable according to Paul Tyson.1Paul Tyson, Seven Brief Lesson on Magic. This includes things like reason and logic, intentionality, pure mathematics, truth, goodness, beauty, love, friendship, justice, dignity, hope, purpose, joy, despair, suffering, and evil. It is precisely this category of non-measurable, yet undeniably real, things that cause us to delight in and intellectually explore the world.
